Child must attend the Reading Recreation Summer Camp or Junior Camp to be eligible for the Before Camp Club. The “Before Camp Club” program is designed to provide Reading Recreation Summer and Junior Campers with fun-filled Sports & Games, Arts & Crafts and other non-structured activities each morning from 7:30AM-9:00AM. This program will differ from the day camp in only that activities will be non-structured and may vary on a daily basis. Reading Recreation will maintain a 10:1 participant to counselor ratio for this program. 8:45 AM - 3:15 PM    Summer Camp Counselor-in-Training [CIT] Program (Grades 9-10) - CIT Program - Week 1 (4 days)
Reading Recreation CITs will assist Camp Counselors and Specialty Counselors and will move around as needed throughout the camp week. This program is designed to give youth entering the 9th and 10th grade a summertime experience that is fun but also teaches responsibility, leadership, and good communication skills. Please note that this program insists that its participants are assertive and self motivated. Appropriate activities in Arts & Crafts, Sports & Games, Science & Nature, and Music are included into each camper’s day. The camper to staff ratio is 5:1. During the summer, campers will enjoy special events such as model magic clay day, Pajama Day, and sports shirt/hat day. All Campers must be able to act independently and must be toilet trained in order to participate in this program. Campers are responsible for bringing their own non-refrigerated lunch, snack and drink.  This camp will be limited to 20 participants per week. Children entering Grades K-8 will be provided fun experiences in the areas of Arts & Crafts, Science & Nature, Sports & Games, Cooperative Games and Swimming at the YMCA Pool. Campers must bring a bathing suit, towel, and bathing cap each day to camp. The camper to staff ratio is 10:1. Campers must bring their own non-refrigerated lunch, snack and drink each day to camp. A special needs counselor is available and special needs children are welcome, however, individual supervision will not be provided. Reading Recreation CITs will assist Camp Counselors and Specialty Counselors and will move around as needed throughout the camp week. This program is designed to give youth entering the 9th and 10th grade a summertime experience that is fun but also teaches responsibility, leadership, and good communication skills. Please note that this program insists that its participants are assertive and self motivated. Appropriate activities in Arts & Crafts, Sports & Games, Science & Nature, and Music are included into each camper’s day. The camper to staff ratio is 5:1. During the summer, campers will enjoy special events such as model magic clay day, Pajama Day, and sports shirt/hat day. All Campers must be able to act independently and must be toilet trained in order to participate in this program. A special needs counselor is available and special needs children are welcome, however, individual supervision will not be provided.
