At Super Soccer Stars, it is our goal to teach soccer skills in a fun, non-competitive, educational environment.  Our philosophy is to use soccer to nurture, to build self-confidence, and to develop teamwork in every class.  Our specially designed curricula use positive reinforcement and a low child-to-coach ratio to ensure that each child improves at this/her own rate while having endless fun.  Prior to the start of the program (usually a day or two before the class starts), all registered participants will receive an email from the staff at Super Soccer Stars which will welcome you to the program and provide important information regarding the program. Please note that the program for children ages 2-3 years old is a Parent & Me program.

This program is recreational pick-up basketball for men ages 18+ and will be overseen by Friends of Reading Recreation volunteer, Jack Malley.  All abilities are welcome.

At Amazing Athletes, we empower children by using sports as a catalyst to engage their inner strengths and abilities so they can confidently pursue an active lifestyle through each stage of development.  Through our structures active play, Amazing Athletes advance 7 different motor skills:Balancing / Running / Jumping / Throwing / Catching / Kicking / BowlingOur non-competitive classes let children build confidence in a safe and fun environment while also building teamwork and good sportsmanship.Prior to the start of the program (usually a day or two prior to the start of the program), all registered participants will receive an email from the staff at Amazing Athletes which will welcome you to the program and provide important information regarding the program.

ROUNDING 1ST PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONRounding 1st is the perfect program to introduce 3-4 year old future ballplayers to the sports of baseball & softball through drills, games, and fun activities catered around building social skills and confidence for children with others their age. Our experienced coaching staff will guide the children through a series of activities that will both help them give them a basic understanding of the sport while allowing them to build friendships with the others in the group. Parents are required to help participate alongside their children to help encourage them to participate and socialize with the group.

Are you feeling stressed or out of sorts?  This class will revitalize your body, relax the mind, increase energy and reduce stress.  Linking together traditional yoga poses to create strength, flexibility and balance, you will learn a whole new understanding of mind/body awareness.  This class is for all levels and abilities.  Please bring a towel, yoga mat and water to every class.  All levels welcome!Instructor:  Connie Pustorino
 
7:15 PM - 8:05 PM    Barre Fusion (Ages 18+) - Barre Fusion - Winter/Spring Session III
This workout creates a lean, firm, sculpted body by combining the principles of Pilates and isometric exercises.  This class will condition the core and sculpt the legs to build strength while improving strength and flexibility.  We will use chairs and various props such as gliding discs, tubing, Palates ball, bands and light hand weights.  Please bring a mat, 1-3 pound hand weights and water to each class.  All levels welcome.Instructor:  Connie Pustorino

Target archery is for everyone!  Why let the kids have all the fun?  All archers will learn archery safety, range procedures and how to shoot a bow through a step-by-step shooting process.  USA Archery range rules are learned and followed on the range.  Youth archers can participate without an adult family member, but adults must have a registered youth family member in order to register.  See you on the range!  No experience is needed.  All equipment is provided.About the Owner and Lead Instructor:Bob Wait is the JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) club coach of On Site Archery. Vinyasa Flow Yoga emphasizes the sequential movement between postures, coordinated with and guided by deliberate breath.  The Vinyasa practice becomes a moving meditation that creates strength, freedom and fluidity in the body and mind.  This class moves at a faster pace.  Please bring a towel, Yoga mat and water bottle to each class.  This is an intermediate level class.Instructor:  Connie Pustorino

Let's build strength, flexibility and confidence!  We'll have fun with Yoga with themed activities, stretch it out, and enjoy mindful moments.  Class is geared towards physical and emotional well-being.  We'll practice poses, build strength, develop focus, enhance flexibility, and enjoy moments to practice mindfulness.  We will incorporate Yoga games set to music and with meaningful themes each week!  Bring your mat and water bottle to each class.Instructor:  Connie Pustorino

Bump, set, spike volleyball is a low-pressure way to help our students learn and develop their volleyball skills. This session will include instruction on the six fundamentals of volleyball: passing, setting, spiking, serving, digging, and blocking. Players will also participate in a variety of learning activities and fun skill-building challenges and games. Players are welcome to bring their own volleyball if they would like, but it is not required. This program is open to both boys and girls. Come and play like a champion!

This program is an introduction to basketball for our youngest athletes. They will learn the fundamentals of dribbling, shooting and passing. At the end of each session, they will have a dribbling contest and play fun games.If you child is entering kindergarten in the Fall, you must register for the Pre-K program.  In order to register for the Kindergarten program, your child must be in kindergarten this school year (2023-2024).  **Times for this program could change depending on enrollment**This program will be OFF on Sunday, May 26th due to the holiday weekend.

In this action packed program, children will participate in a variety of games, such as street hockey, soccer, football, dodgeball, basketball, wiffle ball, and many others! In addition to learning the fundamentals of these sports, we will have exciting discussions about current events in sports, learn the importance of maintaining a healthy active lifestyle, and reinforce in-class learning using sports cards and prizes. Each participant will receive a daily sports prize to add to their collection as well!

For a fun and healthy competitive sport that offers a workout for both mind and body, you can try fencing.  Fencing offers many health benefits including increased flexibility, leg strength and endurance, and improved coordination.  Additionally, because fencing requires you to learn how to predict and outwit your opponent, it is a sport that can greatly improve your concentration, reflexes and ability to notice small details.  Children and teens alike who are interested in the sport can learn fencing with the New England Fencing Alliance.   About the Instructor: Michael Tarascio was a member of the United States World Championship Team in Men’s Foil. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. He teaches Recreational Classes for Youth, Teens, and Adults. Also, Michael teaches Advanced Level Technique and Tactics Classes and provides Individual Coaching for the Serious Competitive Fencer. ROUNDING 1ST PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONRounding 1st is the perfect program to introduce 3-4 year old future ballplayers to the sports of baseball & softball through drills, games, and fun activities catered around building social skills and confidence for children with others their age. Our experienced coaching staff will guide the children through a series of activities that will both help them give them a basic understanding of the sport while allowing them to build friendships with the others in the group. Parents are required to help participate alongside their children to help encourage them to participate and socialize with the group.

Tinker with electronics while learning the basics of computer programming.  The program will begin by experimenting with the fundamentals of electronics and circuitry, and step up to projects where the class of young makers will design their own interactive and programmable devices.  Participants use the latest tools including Arduino (for building interactive devices) and Raspberry Pi (for learning about computers and coding) to experiment with LEDs, resistors, motors and programming.  Each class gives participants a chance to design a hand-on project with the guidance of skilled Circuit Lab instructors.

Players will also participate in a variety of learning activities and fun skill-building challenges and games. Players are welcome to bring their own volleyball if they would like, but it is not required. This program is open to both boys and girls. Come and play like a champion!

Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. Golf is a lifelong sport. The smell of the fresh-cut grass, the crisp morning air, the feeling of the perfect tee shot – it’s hard not to love a few hours on the greens. But what makes golf even better is playing with friends and loved ones. We can’t promise that we will produce the next pro golfer in our program, but we can guarantee that your children will have lots of fun, be introduced to traditional golf grips and hitting stances, and get a little practice with putting and chipping. Using the U.S. Kids Golf Early Start program, each class will consist of short lessons followed by small group activities. Our goal is to introduce the children to the game of golf in a fun and interactive way so they can join you on the greens one day!

Bump, set, spike volleyball is a low-pressure way to help our students learn and develop their volleyball skills. This session will include instruction on the six fundamentals of volleyball: passing, setting, spiking, serving, digging, and blocking. Players will also participate in a variety of learning activities and fun skill-building challenges and games. Players are welcome to bring their own volleyball if they would like, but it is not required. This program is open to both boys and girls. Come and play like a champion!

In addition to learning the fundamentals of these sports, we will have exciting discussions about current events in sports, learn the importance of maintaining a healthy active lifestyle, and reinforce in-class learning using sports cards and prizes. Each participant will receive a daily sports prize to add to their collection as well!

The Spring program is a great way to introduce or build upon existing skills. The Spring program consists of 6 group lessons* on a weekly basis. Participants may choose any day or days during the week Monday through Friday throughout May and June. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Average ratio of participants to instructors in a given session will be a minimum of 4:1 and a maximum of 6:1.  If a class has to be cancelled due to weather, all make-ups are scheduled directly with Gregg Luongo.The Quickstart Tennis Program (Ages 6-8) is for children who are ready to learn and develop basic fundamentals of forehands, backhands, serves, and volleys for practice drills and skill games. Players at the higher level will be developing skills in rallying, control, and point play. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. Our experienced coaching staff will guide the children through a series of activities that will both help them give them a basic understanding of the sport while allowing them to build friendships with the others in the group. Parents are required to help participate alongside their children to help encourage them to participate and socialize with the group.

Welcome to the fastest growing sport in America.  Pickleball is a game for all ages and skill levels and is not only fun but is great exercise too! Pickleball combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis (ping pong).  Beginners will learn fundamentals and strategies of the game as well as player health and safety.  Beginners will concentrate on the rules, regulations, and etiquette of pickleball.  Pickleball can be played as singles or doubles, and games will be of the non-competitive nature. THE BEGINNER CLASS IS FOR BEGINNERS ONLY!  DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS UNLESS YOU ARE A BEGINNER.  PLEASE REGISTER FOR ONLY ONE SESSION TO GIVE MORE PEOPLE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRY PICKLEBALL!  Space is very limited. Due to the limited amount of space, registration is open to READING RESIDENTS ONLY.

Tinker with electronics while learning the basics of computer programming.  The program will begin by experimenting with the fundamentals of electronics and circuitry, and step up to projects where the class of young makers will design their own interactive and programmable devices.  Participants use the latest tools including Arduino (for building interactive devices) and Raspberry Pi (for learning about computers and coding) to experiment with LEDs, resistors, motors and programming.  Each class gives participants a chance to design a hand-on project with the guidance of skilled Circuit Lab instructors.

Golf is a lifelong sport. The smell of the fresh-cut grass, the crisp morning air, the feeling of the perfect tee shot – it’s hard not to love a few hours on the greens. But what makes golf even better is playing with friends and loved ones. We can’t promise that we will produce the next pro golfer in our program, but we can guarantee that your children will have lots of fun, be introduced to traditional golf grips and hitting stances, and get a little practice with putting and chipping. Using the U.S. Kids Golf Early Start program, each class will consist of short lessons followed by small group activities. Our goal is to introduce the children to the game of golf in a fun and interactive way so they can join you on the greens one day!

At Super Soccer Stars, it is our goal to teach soccer skills in a fun, non-competitive, educational environment.  Our philosophy is to use soccer to nurture, to build self-confidence, and to develop teamwork in every class.  Our specially designed curricula use positive reinforcement and a low child-to-coach ratio to ensure that each child improves at this/her own rate while having endless fun.  Prior to the start of the program (usually a day or two before the class starts), all registered participants will receive an email from the staff at Super Soccer Stars which will welcome you to the program and provide important information regarding the program. Please note that the program for children ages 2-3 years old is a Parent & Me program.

Bump, set, spike volleyball is a low-pressure way to help our students learn and develop their volleyball skills. Players will also participate in a variety of learning activities and fun skill-building challenges and games. Players are welcome to bring their own volleyball if they would like, but it is not required. This program is open to both boys and girls. Come and play like a champion!

For a fun and healthy competitive sport that offers a workout for both mind and body, you can try fencing.  Fencing offers many health benefits including increased flexibility, leg strength and endurance, and improved coordination.  Additionally, because fencing requires you to learn how to predict and outwit your opponent, it is a sport that can greatly improve your concentration, reflexes and ability to notice small details.  Children and teens alike who are interested in the sport can learn fencing with the New England Fencing Alliance.   About the Instructor: Michael Tarascio was a member of the United States World Championship Team in Men’s Foil. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. For a fun and healthy competitive sport that offers a workout for both mind and body, you can try fencing.  Fencing offers many health benefits including increased flexibility, leg strength and endurance, and improved coordination.  Additionally, because fencing requires you to learn how to predict and outwit your opponent, it is a sport that can greatly improve your concentration, reflexes and ability to notice small details.  Children and teens alike who are interested in the sport can learn fencing with the New England Fencing Alliance.   About the Instructor: Michael Tarascio was a member of the United States World Championship Team in Men’s Foil. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. He teaches Recreational Classes for Youth, Teens, and Adults. Also, Michael teaches Advanced Level Technique and Tactics Classes and provides Individual Coaching for the Serious Competitive Fencer. This program is a recreational pick-up basketball program for women ages 18+.  All abilities are welcome.  This program is OFF on Monday, April 15th.
