Children entering Grades K-8 will be provided fun experiences in the areas of Arts & Crafts, Science & Nature, Sports & Games, Cooperative Games and Swimming at the YMCA Pool. Campers must bring a bathing suit, towel, and bathing cap each day to camp. The camper to staff ratio is 10:1. Campers must bring their own non-refrigerated lunch, snack and drink each day to camp. A special needs counselor is available and special needs children are welcome, however, individual supervision will not be provided. If registering a child with special needs, please contact the Recreation Division for more information.
Please note that Reading Recreation Summer Camp is inspected and licensed by the Reading Board of Health in accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health 105 CMR 430.00 - 430.830.
- You must submit your child's immunization records and proof of physical.
- The immunization records have to be up-to-date and the date of the physical has to be within the past two years.
- The Recreation Division must receive all medical records at least two weeks prior to your child attending camp.
- All medical records must be reviewed and approved by the Town Nurse prior to your child attending camp. There will be no exceptions!!
- Medical records must be submitted to the Recreation Division each year as these records are not kept from year to year.

On or before April 20th:
Refund minus $10 in the form of a check or a full credit to your Reading Recreation account to use toward future Recreation programs.
April 21st - May 21st:
No refund checks will be give for cancellations. Account credits can be applied to your Reading Recreation account ONLY.
After May 21st:
THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS or ACCOUNT CREDITS GIVEN AFTER MAY 21st UNLESS A DOCTOR'S NOTE IS PROVIDED.
*Please note that if you have a schedule change, you may transfer your child into a different summer camp week, if space is available.

THEME WEEKS FOR 2020 SUMMER CAMP:
Theme weeks are subject to change without notice. Weeks will not be entirely based upon themes. Camp staff will typically plan a theme event on each day during the week.
Week 1 (June 29-July 2): PARTY IN THE U.S.A. (no Summer Camp on Friday, July 3rd)
Happy Birthday America! Let's prepare to celebrate the 4th of July in this week of Summer Camp! Sports, games and crafts will be centered on this Patriotic Holiday! Don't forget to wear you red, white and blue!
Week 2 (July 6-July 10): READING OLYMPIC GAMES
Light the torch and prepare for another gold medal week at our Olympics in Reading! Campers will participate in a variety of sports including handball, soccer, basketball, and of course, Dodgeball! Sure to be fun for all of our Olympic boys and girls!
Week 3 (July 13-July 17): SUMMER CAMP MASH UP
Join Reading Recreation as we roll some of the most popular summer camp themes into one week!
Monday: Reading Spirit Day - Wear your Rocket gear or Red and Black!
Tuesday: Amazing Race - Mini sports & games tournies with your friends!
Wednesday: Hawaiian Luau - Wear something tropical and enjoy a visit from Kona Ice!
Thursday and Friday: Halloween in July - Wear your Halloween costume while enjoying a spooky haunted house!!
Week 4 (July 20-July 24): DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT
Join us for one of the most popular weeks of summer camp - DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT! Children will enjoy dodgeball games like doctor, bombardment, sea wars, free for all, and more! After all the practice, teams will be made and a HUGE tournament will be held!
Week 5 (July 27-July 31): COLOR ME CRAZY
Children will be sure to see every color of the rainbow in this colorful week! Fun activities will include tie dye t-shirts and the first ever Reading Recreation Color Run!
Week 6 (August 3-August 7): READING'S GOT TALENT
Lights, Camera, Action! Inside of everyone is a superstar waiting to be born. Let us help you discover your hidden talent. There will be no shortage of bravado as we sing, act, dance and shake our way through this show-stopping week!
Week 7 (August 10-August 14): UNDER THE SEA
Make a splash into Week 7! Ride the mechanical shark while exploring all things that live under the sea!
