Pickleball, Adult Program (Beginner and Intermediate)
BEGINNER: Welcome to the fastest growing sport in America. Pickleball is a game for all ages and skill levels. Pickleball is not only fun but is great exercise too. Pickleball combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis (ping pong). Beginners will learn fundamentals and strategies of the game as well as player health and safety. Beginners will concentrate on the rules, regulations, and etiquette of pickleball. Pickleball can be played as singles or doubles, and games will be of the non-competitive nature. THE BEGINNER CLASS IS FOR BEGINNERS ONLY! PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS UNLESS YOU ARE A BEGINNER.
INTERMEDIATE: Mid-level players looking to improve their shot selection, game strategy, and reduce unforced errors. Intermediate players will have the chance for competitive games. Players will focus on more advanced skills and strategies for single and doubles matches. Players will have experienced skills including; forehand, backhand, serve/ return, and know the fundamental rules and can keep score. Basic knowledge of court position and situations where it can be effective.

Special Notes with regard to COVID-19: Participants will need to provide their own paddle and hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer will need to be used before and after play. Masks must be worn upon arrival and dismissal.
Due to the popularity of Pickleball, the registration for Session 2 will open on Monday, June 21st at 8:00AM for Reading residents only. Non-residents can register the following day on Tuesday, June 22nd at 8:00AM, if space is available.
