Does your child love to run? Do they want to learn more about the fundamentals of running?  This program is geared for children ages 8-14 that want to get moving and begin to experience the joy that running can bring.  Each session will be a different style run, helping the kids to build off the session before and grow stronger each time.  Running can be a lifetime sport and teaches such valuable lessons on how to mentally and physically dig deep, show perseverance and commitment! The last session will be a fun run race format that the kids will build to get ready for!  The race will be a one-mile race with prizes given to the top three finishers!Participants will only need to bring athletic clothes, running shoes and water!

This fun "learn to play" program uses a pre-game warm up of rotating teaching stations to improve throwing, catching and hitting! Then all players participate in a Fun "controlled" mini game! PLAY BALL! Parent volunteers and Rec staff will lead a 15 minute practice followed by 45 minutes of instructional game play. Each participant will receive a t-shirt uniform at the first session and rosters and schedules will be emailed out the week of June 29th. Please bring a glove, labeled with your child’s name on it. Date: Mondays & Wednesdays, July 6th – July 29thTime: 5:45PM – 6:45PMLocation: RMHS Stadium Turf Field (July 20th & July 22nd will be on Birch Meadow Softball Field)Cost $99.00Minimum 20/Max 40

SNL brings in former RMHS Quarterbacks and current college football players James and Jack Murphy to deliver a fun and educational flag football program.The goal of this program is to teach the fundamentals of each specific football skill and position so that players will better comprehend and appreciate this fun and exciting sport. Our program includes fun drills and contests that accelerates improvement and fosters a love for the game! Whether you are brand new to the sport, or looking for experienced competitiveness, SNL is catering to all kids of all different skill levels. Come learn the basics of flag and develop skills and knowledge to take your game to the next level.

A former three-sport collegiate athlete at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and Salem State University, Norma has also served as Executive Director of Mass Elite AAU and coached at Medford, Saugus, and Reading Memorial High School. She has been involved with the Bay State Games for over sixteen years as both a player and coach and currently leads the Northeast team. Norma is passionate about teaching the fundamentals of basketball while helping young athletes build confidence, teamwork, and life skills through the game. Join Coach Waggett and her staff for a fun and engaging girls basketball clinic designed for players who want to learn more about the game and develop their skills. Participants will focus on basketball fundamentals such as proper shooting form, dribbling, passing, and game play through drills and activities while building confidence and friendships. Two sessions are offered: Girls entering K–3 from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM and girls entering Grades 4–9 from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM. 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM    SNL Rec on the Run! (Ages 8-14) - Rec on the Run!
Does your child love to run? Do they want to learn more about the fundamentals of running?  This program is geared for children ages 8-14 that want to get moving and begin to experience the joy that running can bring.  Each session will be a different style run, helping the kids to build off the session before and grow stronger each time.  Running can be a lifetime sport and teaches such valuable lessons on how to mentally and physically dig deep, show perseverance and commitment! The last session will be a fun run race format that the kids will build to get ready for!  The race will be a one-mile race with prizes given to the top three finishers!Participants will only need to bring athletic clothes, running shoes and water!
 
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM    Elite Football Clinics (Grades K-6 & 6-10) - Elite Football Clinic (Grades 6-10)
Join Endicott College Head Football Coach and Reading resident, Paul McGonagle, for the 8th annual specialized youth football clinic.  Coach McGonagle along with other talented collegiate coaches and players, will give each athlete the fundamentals and skills needed to help them advance in their current position and to explore other positions.  At the same time having some much needed outdoor fun and playing games.

Camp Directors will be Lance Dottin, Carl McFadden and Jeff Nelson. Lance is a Massachusetts Hall of Fame Coach at Cambridge Rindge and Latin, 5 X Coach of the Year, 3 State Titles and 473 wins. Carl is the owner of SNL Sports Academy as well as Assistant Coach at Reading for the past 20 years. During his time at Reading he helped lead teams to a D2 North State Title and 250+ wins. Jeff has nearly 20 years experience as an NBA scout. The clinic will focus on skill development, team contests and games.This clinic is for both boys and girls!

These clinics will be led by Coach Kevin Tobin (UMASS) and former Division 1 UMASS players.  The focus of the clinic is on skill development.  There will be consistent work on ground balls, passing, catching, shooting and footwork.  Also, there will be mini-games and competitions throughout the sessions.  Younger players will work on basic skill development such as rules to play by, passing, catching, scooping and shooting properly.  Older players will work on skill development in all categories of the game as well as some competitive small field competitions.All participants will need to bring turf or cleats, helmet (boys), goggles (girls), lacrosse stick and water.

This fun "learn to play" program uses a pre-game warm up of rotating teaching stations to improve throwing, catching and hitting! Then all players participate in a Fun "controlled" mini game! PLAY BALL! Parent volunteers and Rec staff will lead a 15 minute practice followed by 45 minutes of instructional game play. Each participant will receive a t-shirt uniform at the first session and rosters and schedules will be emailed out the week of June 29th. Please bring a glove, labeled with your child’s name on it. Date: Mondays & Wednesdays, July 6th – July 29thTime: 5:45PM – 6:45PMLocation: RMHS Stadium Turf Field (July 20th & July 22nd will be on Birch Meadow Softball Field)Cost $99.00Minimum 20/Max 40
